Theresa De Puydt Johnson was born and raised in rural Montana. In 1994, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Montana State University, Theresa and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1998, after the birth of her second child, Theresa began painting portraits professionally. Theresa is a member of the "American Society of Portrait Artists" and Portland art organization "Art on the Peninsula".
